Community FAQ

What's this all about?
Here's the basic idea: Each channel here (#1, #2 etc) is dedicated to a particular show that may or may not still be on the air, but people may have missed the first time around. Or you may have seen it a while back and want to revisit it. Each Channel will have a Channel Mod, who is in charge of the viewing schedule for that show - ideally this is someone who is passionate about the program and wants to simply post the deadline for the next episode to be watched. People who are interested then watch the episode however they choose to, and then get together and post on the episode post about what they thought about the episode. That's it!

Wait: How does it work, again?
Channel Moderators will pick a show and set a schedule. You are free to watch collectively via Hangout, or quietly on your own. After the show "airs," the Channel Mod will put up a post with a recap, and that post then becomes the place to discuss that episode. Please no spoilers for future episodes until after they, too, have "aired." But do feel free to highlight fresh details that could theoretically become important later ...
How can I find the shows that are being discussed?
There are many ways that you can you do this, and we totally advocated you doing this as legally as you can possibly. Many shows that may be ReWatched are available via streaming services, retails and second-hand stores, or even libraries. Friends and family are also great sources to borrow from.

Can I post links to shows online?
Only if those links are to legal sources of shows - we respect the rights of copyright holders and creators. Links to non-legal sources will fall under our Community Management Policy (which is currently being put together)

There is no way for me to watch the show for free without doing so illegally - can I still participate in your discussions?
Any community member who is watching the show can participate in the conversations. We are not going to encourage community members to pirate programming, and would very much prefer it if you could find a way to watch legally. But how you watch is on your own conscience, and we will not be responsible for any consequences of your decision-making.

Can I start a new post in the Admin & FAQ section?
We'd rather you didn't as this is the space where we'll be posting all the really important stuff. It's not really meant to a full-on discussion space, but an information space?

How do I get you to watch a show that I want to watch?
Post in the "Channel Suggestions" category. If you are willing to be a Channel Mod, let us know and we'll get a channel set up. Otherwise, your suggestion will just sit there until someone volunteers to be a Channel Mod.

Is there a limit to the number of shows we can have in the community?
Currently, Google Plus only allows communities to have twenty categories.  We may eventually go back and assign new categories to posts, and ask people to use a hashtag for their show's title. But we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

I'm a Channel Mod, but I don't have a Moderator tag - what's up with that?
Unfortunately, Google+ doesn't allow for different levels of Moderator yet. Rather than having half of the community have moderator powers, it's more of a ceremonial thing.  And you can ask the mods to delete comments for you if someone starts causing trouble in your posts.  We won't do that for anyone but a Channel Mod (unless someone is spamming or is obviously spoiling for a fight).

Can we buy you stuff on Kickstarter?
Yes.

Do you do your own stunts?
Yes.

Can you validate my parking?
No.
